***Ecuador Portfolio***

Ecuador is home to a great variety of species, many of them endemic. The species diversity makes Ecuador one of the seventeen mega-diverse countries in the world. This country also boasts more than 1600 species of birds, pristine cloud-forests, vast mountain ranges, and grasslands that are breathtaking. Culturally speaking the country is very safe, clean, and easy to travel. The US dollar is the currency of choice, and with a solid infrastructure of highways, it’s a pleasure to travel this country.  One would be hard pressed to find a better place in the world to accomplish your photographic goals. Your leader Juan Carlos Vindas will lead you on a most productive and practical tour. Air transportation to the capital city of Quito is quite easy from Miami and Houston serving as prime departure hubs.

The tour begins with your arrival to Quito’s Mariscal Sucre International Airport. Here you will be met and transferred to your first lodge on the western slopes of the Andean mountain range. We will be staying 5 nights at one of the finest lodges in the famous Mindo area, then will be back in Quito for one night so we can arrive to Antisana Ecological Reserve early the next morning. We will then cross the Andes to visit the Papallacta area where we will be staying 3 more nights. At the end, we return to Quito for our farewell dinner and to pack for your flight back home the next day.

At each lodge, you will photograph diverse species of hummingbirds and many other birds including colorful tanagers, toucans and toucanets, flowerpiercers and manakins, giving you the opportunity to create your own exclusive portfolio of Neotropical bird images.

Let us show you Ecuador from our perspective! We will travel in an altitudinal gradient that ranges from 400 meters (1300 ft) up to 4000 meters ( over 13,000 ft) on both Eastern and Western slopes of the Andes.

The Essence of Costa Rica

Take your portfolio to the next level!

9 Nights & 10 Days with Juan Carlos Vindas

Jan 5th/Jan14th. 2018

***Costa Rica Portfolio***

With over 900 species of birds, including the elusive resplendent quetzal, and the colorful keel-billed toucan, Costa Rica has so much to offer in a tiny portion of land that barely reach the 21.000 squeare miles. Allow that a local expert with over 20 years of experience take you under his wing and show you the amazing fauna and culture of Costa Rica.

On this tour, we will be visting the northern plains in Costa Rica, rich in wildlife as they are part of several natural corridors and it´s close to a protected area where our first lodge is located. It´s no secret that Costa Rica has been a leader in conservation in recent years and the number of protected areas encompass 25% of its total landmass making this Central American country one of the richest in terms of biodiversity. A country with no standing army since 1948 and the 5% of the world´s diverity is a perfect place to help you bring variety and color to your portfolio.

If you arrive early then no problem as the hotel´s garden is the right place to practice with your macro lens as the number of native and exotic flowers will keep you busy! At night, we will meet at a conference room to get to know each other and then will eat dinner (dinner for first night not included in the price)

We will begin this photo tour by heading towards the northern plains where will will spend the next three nights, then will move to a cooler area surrounded by lush rainforest where many birds and mammals can be photographed. We then will travel to Costa Rica´s highlands where the beautiful resplendent quetzal can be found. The number of species is too large to number but we will end up with a great number of keepers that light enlighten your porfolio. We will be traveling in altitudinal gradient that goes from 30mts above the sea level up to 2300mts. in elevation.

Allow me to show you Costa Rica from my perspective!

Payments must be done in US dollars and you have to cover your wiring fees. (I will cover mine in Costa Rica) The tour must be paid in full by October 5th. 2017.
